Sri Lanka thrash hosts by 55 runs(D/L)

Sri Lanka started their Champions Trophy campaign in style by defeating hosts South Africa comprehensively.Dilshan provided early fireworks as Sri Lanka batted first.He batted freely making 106 in 92 balls.After Dilshan provided a superb start,Jayawardena made a fluent 77 to take the team to a mammoth 319.Dale Steyn was impressive with the ball for the Soth Africans taking 3 wickets.Youngster Wayne Parnell also took 3 wickets though he was very expensive giving away 79 runs in his 10 overs.For South Africa,Graham Smith made a confident 58 off 44 balls before being dismissed by Mendis.Kallis also made 41,while a few others got starts.However,no one played a big knock which was required to take the hosts to victory.Mendis bowled exceptionally to take 3/30 in his 7 overs.South Africa were 207/7 in 37.4 overs when rain haulted the proceedings,which sealed a 55 run-win for the Lankans.
