Sri Lanka thrash New Zealand in 1st ODI

Thilan Sameraweera made 104 while Angelo Mathews made 51 to take Sri Lanka to a moderate 216.Shane Bond who has come back in international cricket with a bang,took 3 wickets for just 43 runs in his spell of 10 overs.New Zealand made the mediocre target look massive,as they collapsed to 41/6.The only notable contribution came from Graham Elliot who made 41 as the kiwis were all out for 119.Lasith Malinga was unplayable as he took 4 wickets at an economy of just 4.5 runs an over.Samaraweera who was hit by a bullet in the terrorist attacks in Pakistan,has shown tremendous determination to come back in such a strong way.Not only has he made a comeback in tests,but also has sealed his ODI berth after being a uncertainty about six months ago.
