Dravid gets to his 30th hundred

"Legend, great, stalwart of Indian cricket, great wall of India, team man,Go-to man under pressure"

These are just some of the many words or praises that have been said/written about Rahul Dravid. One of those people, who have never got the respect or faith that they deserve. He is the best No.3 batsman India has ever had,yet he is humble enough to say, that he is lucky to have the chance to play for his country.

Media and a majority section of the public have questioned him over and over again, which is rather disappointing. So many bloggers around the world have asked him to retire quite a few times. He has been having an average year by his high standards,no doubt about that, but we must not question his place in the side.RD is such a selfless person that he would probably retire if he felt he didn't have it in him anymore. This wasn't his most fluent hundred and wasn't even against the strongest bowling attacks, but it is reason enough to believe he is going nowhere. The pitch wasn't easy for sure, with even Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman in spite of their tremendous form, managed slow forties. That is what made Dravid's and Sehwag's knock so special. To see RD fight it out and show the character and determination that he known for was great for every fan of his.

Cheteshwar Pujara is the next big thing for sure and has the talent, temperament and hunger needed to make it big at the big stage. But,he will have to wait a little longer. He just needs to be assured that his time will come.Meanwhile,New Zealand went onto 331 for the loss of 5 wickets.I wasn't able to catch the action because of upcoming exams but it was good to read about the fight Ryder and youngster Kane Williamson put up.I support India but more than happy to see it being a hard fought battle rather than a one-sided series.

Hopefully RD's finger injury which he attained today isn't too serious and we see him bat in the second innings.
