VVS Laxman:Test Cricketer of the Year 2010

In 2010, some Indian batsmen played brilliantly and won quite a few matches for India. As it always happens, Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag's contribution was much talked about, but this Hyderabadi hero got left behind. Sachin and Sehwag might have scored more runs than VVS Laxman, maybe at a better average and maybe even at a better strike rate. Yet, three fantastic victories in Mohali, Colombo and now in Durban on the back of Laxman knocks make him my Test Cricketer of the Year. Salute to the wristy artist and legend.

Also, a salute to Zaheer Khan who absolutely changed the dynamics of India's bowling in Durban with his return. He too, deserves a lot of the credit.

Congrats to Rahul Dravid for completing the double century of test catches in tests and being the first non-wicketkeeper to reach that mark. The stunning catch that he took did justice to the occasion. He is certainly one of the best slip fielders India has ever produced along side VVS Laxman himself.

Well done to Team India and Team England for their respective victories. However, job isn't complete for either team yet.

WISHING YOU A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR !!

  1. Yep, he's the dude. The stuff of nightmares for teams trying to bowl India out in the second innings.
