New South Wales lift Champions League Title


NSW made 159 batting first in the all-important Final of Champions League T20.Trinidad and Tobago bowled superbly in the first few overs,putting NSW on the back foot at 6/83.Ravi Rampaul was exceptionally good taking 3/20 in his 4-over spell.Dwayne Bravo also took 2 wickets.The two major contributors were Steven Smith making 33 off 26 balls and Brett Lee.Lee showed all his experience making a invaluable contribution of 48 off just 31 balls with 5 huge sixes.Lee,almost single-handedly took NSW above the 150-run mark.In reply,T&T lost their first wickets early in the very first over.Lee got opener Willian Perkin on the second ball for a duck.Adrain Barath smashed 14 in the next over before getting out on the last ball of the second over,leaving T&T at 21/2 in 2 overs.Darren Ganga and Dwayne Bravo got starts,however,were unable to convert it into a big partnership.Crowd's favourite Keiron Pollard provided some good entertainment in his 15-ball 26 with 3 huge sixes.Stuart Clark cleaned up the lower order batsmen as T&T were all out for 119,giving NSW a win by 41 runs.Lee was exceptional with the ball as well taking 2/10 in his 2 overs.Brett Lee was awarded both 'Man of the Match' and 'Man of the Tournament'.
