Clinical Australia extend lead

Australia thrashed Pakistan by 140 runs in the 2nd ODI in Sydney at SCG.Australia, batting first, had a century opening stand between Shane Watson and Shaun Marsh.Watson was the more dominant of the two,and made 64.Marsh also played his part and made 41.Cameron White continued his good run with another good knock of 55 in 58 balls. He played a crucial role, while wicketkeeper Brad Haddin made a quick 13-ball 27 to raise the total to 267 in the last overs. For Pakistan,Mohammed Aamer was amongst the wickets. He picked up 3/53 in his 9 overs, while Shahid Afridi was also impressive.Afridi has been consistent over the past year, having contributed in almost every game with either the ball or the bat or both.Afridi took 2/35 in his 10 overs.Saeed Ajmal bowled a good spell, though he went wicket less.
The Pakistan innings was a total mess.Only three batsmen managed to reach double figures,as wickets fell regularly right from the start.Doug Bollinger was impressive as ever, and took 2/19 in his 8 overs.Clint Mckay ended up with figures of 3/15 into his 8th over.Mohammed Yusuf,Pakistan's skipper was the only player who tried to fight it out.He managed to make a consolation half century. This is his last series as incharge of Pakistan's captaincy,as PCB Chief Ijaz Butt announced earlier this week that a captain will be chosen after the series. The series has not gone well for the legendary batsmen and I think its a political move rather than a strategic move.Naved-ul-Hasan smashed a few late in the order as Pakistan were bundled out for 127.I didn't expect them to reach even that total after they were 7/71 in 25 overs.Australia totally dominated this game, though the 1st ODI was a close shave.
