Dravid and Tendulkar dominate Day Two

Day Two of 2nd Test belonged to India just like the Day One.India was 69/0 overnight, with both Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir looking set.Their partnership continued for a little longer and reached a 100.Sehwag was out for 56 when India's total reached 103.In came,Rahul Dravid, one of the best No.3 batsmen to have played the game.I am always going to be partial to him since I am such a big fan of his.I was unfortunately not able to watch the match today. But,Dravid seemed to be excellent touch.Dravid made a century and was batting on 111,when he got hit by a bouncer on side of his face by Shahadat Hossain. He was immediately taken to hospital and a jaw fracture has been detected. It was disappointing to know that he is unexpected to take any part in this match.Luckily,it wasn't a serious injury.Sachin Tendulkar came in after Gautam Gambhir was out on 68.This is even more disappointing then Dravid's injury.Gambhir has scored 5 centuries in his last 5 tests and needs 1 more in this test to equal Sir Don Bradman's record of 6 centuries in as many tests. However, with India batting long in the first innings,it seems unlikely that Gambhir will get a chance to do it in the 2nd innings. It was a golden opportunity, that was lost, since doing it all over again is very difficult.Tendulkar joined in the party and made another century himself. He went on to make 143 and had a 222-run partnership with Dravid before he was forced to leave the field.Murali Vijay, who found a place in the side due to the absence of injured VVS Laxman, also made 30.MS Dhoni was not out on 22,while night watchmen Harbhajan Singh lost his wicket on the second last ball of the day.India finished on 459/5 with a lead of 226 runs.Yuvraj Singh will be walking in to bat tomorrow with Dhoni.India is firmly ahead at this stage and it looks as if they wil win this series 2-0.It would be ideal for India to extend their lead to around 350 or more.A lead of 400 would be ideal and would allow Indian bowlers to attack the Bangladeshis and try to impose an innings defeat.
