England overcome the ICC jinx

England have finally managed to win their first ever ICC Trophy.They became the new T20 Champions because:-
1.Openers and wicketkeeper:England over the last few years have shuffled between various openers who have been unsuccessful and worry for the team.Finally,they managed to find a decent opening pair(though they were South Africans,haha).Micheal Lumb and Craig Kieswetter might not have had huge partnerships,but they provided quick starts almost every time.Both consistently made 20's n 30's.Also,wicketkeepers slot has been ever changing in England's team.They have tried every one from Nixon to Jones.Kieswetter solved that problem too.
2.Kevin Pieterson:Usually when you name reason why a side lost or won,you name a group of guys who were outstanding.But,here is one exception.England's batting almost completely dependent on KP.He didn't give other guys too many chances to bat and ended up being 'Player of the Tournament'.This guy thoroughly deserves all the appreciation he gets.
3.Spin:Yes,that's right spin.I know,England isn't known for having great spinners or something,but it is true.Micheal Yardy and Grame Swann most definitely were amazing throughout the tournament.Swann deservingly has gone onto win 'English Cricketer of the Year'.
4.Pace attack:A big reason the English spinners were successful,was the good start that the pacers gave every time.Tim Bresnan,Stuart Broad and Ryan Sidebottom were on the job game after game.They were disciplined and the execution of plan was amazing.One key point to be noted is,inspite of knowing that James Anderson is England's best test bowler and swing bowler,they realized that probably Bresnan is better in T20.So they took the brave decision to keep Anderson on the bench throughout the WC.Andy Flower,Paul Collingwood and other members of the England think-tank deserve a pat on the back for this.
5.Fielding:If good bowling and batting weren't enough to beat a side,England would compete in the field too.Even in final,direct hit by Lumb made sure dangerous David Warner's stay was short-lived.
Overall,it was a perfect team performance,where one can hardly find flaws.They hardly needed to use 6th bowler and whenever they did,Collingwood or Wright came up with the goods.So they were deserving champions and every Australian fan(like myself) will have to digest it.
