Eagles beat Somerset while Pollard wins it for Trinidad and Tobago


Diamond Eagles from Bloemfontein beat Somerset by 5 wickets,while Trinidad and Tobago chased down 171 with 4 wickets in hand.In the first game,Somerset batted first making a mere 132 in their allotted 20 overs.Durston was the top scorer with 57 off 32 balls at a strike rate of over 170.Cornelius de Villiers was splendid with 4 wickets giving away just 17 runs.In reply,Morne Van Wyk made 47 to take them home with 8 balls in hand.Somerset are now in a must win position if at all they want to have any chance of qualifying.
The second match at Hyderabad was a thrilling game.New South Wales batted first,with openers David Warner making 41-ball 63 and Phil Hughes made 83 off 64 balls.NSW ended up making a highly competitive 170.Dwayne Bravo was impressive as usual with 3 wickets.In the second innings,NSW kept a tight hold on Trinidad and Tobago innings.They fielded very well with 3 run outs in the innings.Denesh Ramdin made a 13-ball 23,but the real match winner was Kieron Pollard.He smashed 54 runs off just 18 balls with 5 sixes and 5 fours.Thanks to Pollard,they finished the game in the 19th over,even after being 118/6 in 15.2 overs.Moises Henriques was very expensive giving away 49 in 3.3 overs.NSW went from a strong position to losing with 9 balls to spare.
